Françoise BENOMAR
Françoise Benomar is a Franco-Moroccan artist who has a large number of threads in his bow. Writer, professor of philosophy and art and film critic, she established her home in the silver-ochre colored country in 2002 and chose to pursue photography in 2009.
Françoise Benomar loves both words as much as images. She gives the illusion of decorating her models with bright colors of wax that she reinterprets giving the fabric a pictorial character. Imagines bodily scenarios in which the nude becomes an emblem of aesthetic adventures alone or in partnership. A dance of variegated colors that transcends and sublimates the beauty of the body through an eclectic series.
The series « Odes en route, odes en déroutes. » 2019, followed by « Rêves et confinement » in 2020 came to register as a logical artistic project for coping with our confinement shaken minds.
”The need to open a door to daydreaming has imposed itself to escape from the dark time of our loneliness, of our impossibility of foreseeing encounters, seeing ourselves prisoners in spite of ourselves. In the logical continuation of my work with the African body, I inscribed the idea of creating a spatial reconversion of bodies to give the illusion that a part of happiness was possible. I had to find an ornament to get those human beings out of the walls and confine them aesthetically. The choice of color through Wax was the self-trigger to create a dream space to remove the traces of this dark period”

Philosopher, writer, photographer, magnifies words and bodies by wrapping them in warm and luminous colors. I like her way of giving grace to feminine and masculine contours, to curves, to skins…
